IRIS DE MOÜY – "GHOST TALES AT THE MUSEUM"

An exhibition introducing pieces by this new and upcoming illustrator/children’s book author from France. Iris has been a resident at Villa Kujoyama, an artist residence, one of the five branches of Institut Francais Japon—since March, and has been busy researching the monsters of Japan. This exhibition will premier new pieces created during her stay. Seven of Iris’ monsters drawn for the children on largely printed panels are on display in different corners of the museum.

平安神社 HEIAN SHRINE 京都市左京区岡崎西天王町

The shrine was built in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the founding of Kyoto as capital of the country and to coincide with an industrial exposition held that year.
